Both formats are made from pullulan, a natural water soluble biopolymer. No plastic, no aluminium lid, and no microplastics in the cup.
A conventional capsule asks you to separate a bonded laminate that cannot be separated. This one does not ask anything.
The machine pod holds its shape against hot water and pressure for the full cycle. The instant pod dissolves in a mug in seconds.
Garden, compost heap, food waste caddy. No sorting, no peeling a foil lid, no industrial facility.
Soil bacteria treat pullulan as food. Days, not centuries, and no fragments left behind.
The machine pod is built to the dimensions of a standard single serve capsule, so it drops into the brewer you already own. No adapter and no modification.
No. Pullulan is tasteless and odourless, which is a large part of why it was chosen over the alternatives. The shell also keeps its shape through the whole brew rather than breaking into the cup, so extraction happens the same way it does in a conventional capsule.
Pullulan is already used in food and medicine, including breath strips and pill capsules. The US Food and Drug Administration reviewed it for general food use and responded with no questions, under GRAS Notice GRN 000099.
The machine pod goes in a brewer and biodegrades after use. The instant pod dissolves into the drink itself, so there is nothing to dispose of at all.
Instant pods are available now and ship within a few working days of the order. Machine pods are still in production and will be listed here when they are ready.
